Specific Initiatives:
There are several specific initiatives that HERC is supporting to help military members and their families achieve their educational goals quickly and cost-effectively. Click on the images below to go to the page on this site for these initiatives:
In September 2016, two initiatives were kicked off in support of the U.S. Marine Corps:
At the request of USMC Reserve Headquarters in New Orleans, LA, HERC support was extended to the entire Marine Corps Reserve. Educational Services Officers were briefed at their annual training, with site visits to locations scheduled thereafter. (Click on the image on the right for more information.)
In addition, at the request of the Education Office at USMC HQ at Henderson Hall, full time counselors from the Education Office can process students with this degree exploration system. Site visits to installations are also being scheduled. (Click the image on the left for more information.)
These initiatives are in addition to the free support that is offered by HERC to the entire Marine Corps community, including officers and enlisted, and their family members. We also honor those who served this nation in the Marines by extending our offer of free support to veterans and retirees of the Marine Corps and their families.
For many years, this degree exploration system has been used to empower National Guard members desiring to further their education. In fact, more than 43,500 members of the National Guard have been supported in the past. With our support, they are able to minimize loss of credit in transfer and maximize the application of the credit they have earned in the past, including their military credit, college level exams, and professional certification credit.
At the request of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard (EANGUS), HERC offers free support not only to the Army National Guard, but also to the Air National Guard across the nation. Our support is not limited to enlisted personnel, but is available to officers, as well. Family members of National Guard citizen-soldiers and airmen are also welcome to take advantage of this free support. (Click on the image on the left to find out more.)
Several other military-focused initiatives are positioned to launch soon. Check back with this site for additional listings.
